Our story begins in a small town in Calabria, Italy named Maida, where owners Fabio Pilo and Giuseppe Paone were born and raised. They each individually migrated to the US and coming from a town with less than 2,000 inhabitants, Fabio and Giuseppe missed the intimate feeling of being able to step out of their houses, go to the local bar or gelateria and connect with friends, acquaintances and family. But even more, they missed being able to enjoy real freshly made gelato – not industrial produced gelato loaded with artificial colors and preservatives. In their quest to find real, fresh gelato in the Philadelphia area, they realized that this type of gelato did not exist in the area. Zerogradi gelateria was born out of a desire to have a place where local residences could go to connect, as well as to infuse the Italian tradition of gelato into the community. Fabio and Giuseppe started making gelato following original Italian recipes in a small laboratory in Ambler, PA. Zerogradi gelato is made fresh every day in small batches, always introducing new combinations of flavors, to offer the best quality of the product and to offer a big variety of flavors to customers.

Zerogradi now also serves local restaurants and coffee shops who want to offer to their customers a high-quality dessert. We work directly with each chef to try to meet their needs and, together, find the perfect flavors for their individual needs.
Our gelato is top quality, starting with the best ingredients, which are carefully sourced, completely natural, and whenever possible, local and seasonal. We pay extra care to the ingredients that we use because fresh and organic simply tastes better. Our gelato is 100% natural and made fresh daily. No artificial flavorings, colorings, or preservatives are added.
